• Bondsmen are Bounty Hunters: Thanks to a rather popular reality TV show, quite a few people have an incorrect view of bondsmen and assume, falsely, that all bondsmen are bounty hunters. While it is true that bondsmen will sometimes enlist the services of a bounty hunter in order to find a defendant who has skipped out on bail, in the majority of cases, it is simply cheaper for a bondsman to charge the person who put up collateral rather than employing the services of a bounty hunter.
